The British government has finally got around to recognising the role played by the Women's Land Army in wartime Britain.

In any case, I atach below the picture of my much loved sister Polly, 90 this year, in her wartime uniform

Ron, I read with enormous interest your sister's memories. They gave me an idea of what life was like during wartime: normally, there are many possibilities to know what armies did, but these flash-backs on everyday's life are really precious!
Thank you so much and, please, express to your dear sister all my best wishes for her wonderfully reached age!

You might be interested to know that I have two other sisters also in their nineties, one of them, Esther, pictured here with Polly (who is seated on the right) is 94 !

It is a standing family joke that whenever we all get together I am introduced by my sistera as being their "baby brother"

At my present age of 84 this does get a few raised eyebrows :lol:
