Hi,
I'm very interested for my researches to get in touch with TRUST and BETFOR vets willing to share their memories with me.
I'm also a collector and I am always on the look on informations, documents, maps, photographs (scanned or original), etc.
The period of main interest is mainly may 1945 and the arrival of the Allies in Trieste, the negotiations with germans and the facts happened at Obelisco. Thanks in advance
Vorwaerts

We have TWO BETFOR vets who regularly write in this forum. Both have written some memoirs online:

Hi macondo,
thanks for the excellent links. I saved them onto my PC and will check them later.
i'm definitely interested in hearing from the 2 vets, and i'll try not to bore them too much with questions
regarding collectibles, yes please, let me know. i'm always on the look for pins, shoulder flashes, insignias and so on. I'm also interested in photographs taken in Trieste, from 1943-1954 (so, also during german period).
looking forward to hear from you

If I can be of any help
Hi Vorwaerts (and Mac)
Just looked in and spotted Macondo throwing my name around
I must point out that I have never had any links with either BETFOR or TRUST but am just someone who spent some Time in Trieste after WW2.
I see Mac has given you a few links, just to confuse you further I'll give you another one:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/alabaster ... fromedit=1
This one will give you a Chronological diary so that you can pick and choose which parts of my Army career might interest you.
I would respectfully reccomend that you spend some time reading at least some of my articles and then decide which areas you need further info on.
Whilst I'm on line, Best wishes to everyone on "a-Trieste"
Ron

As a British soldier, I was stationed in the Trieste area from October 1945 until January 1947
Hi Ron,
glad to read you. Actually I have very clear in mind the period and the questions I have for you guys , but I cannot throw all my cards on the table
I liked a lot to virtually browse your diary and the pics you took (oh, by the way, the german Afrikakorps band is not for the cap, it was worn on the arm).

Afrikakorps armband
Hi Vorwaerts
Be aware that my Album was written 61 years ago
Since that time many interested parties have written to me pointing out my mistake and the internet has provided many images and even sales of arm-bands on e-bay so, thanks for pointing it out, but you are a little late
You might like to know that I have made it a policy never to edit or re-write the original Album (still in my posession) but have slipped A4 notes into the relevant pages to draw attention to any errors or further research.
Cheers
Ron

Rofizal sent a picture of a AMG-FTT group in Triest. It would be nice if somebody recognize him/herself
