Dear Ron,
probably you understood that I love the austrian of the WWI exactly as I hate the Nazi of the WWII and this means that during 1914-1918 we were on oposite barricades. Anyway I have pleasure in reading it and I will ask you if there is anything that is not clear to me. Thanks a lot for the link

Memories from WW1
Dear Ron: very interesting, though difficult, link.
I'm reading little by little: it's not a light text. However, very very intriguing!
Thank you!

You see, my father went to the WW1 in 1917 and stayed there until the end. When he was called he was 19.
he wrote regular postcards to his family and they wrote to him, every day( the post was better than now).
Granny kept father's postcards, and father kept those from his parents. those written by Father went thrown away by Granny, while those from Trieste are still in my drawer. Dad passed them to me, to know from the letters how was my Grandfather, who died a few years later.
I have read some of them, but they were written in a small handwrinting and there was the war censorship, so a lot of news couldn't be written. And then there is a feeling of privacy, this is the reason for I don't write them down publicy.
I'll see if there' something not too private, and perhaps post something of them.

A realistic view of the WWI is on

including executions and the horrors of war, previously censored photos and visits to hospitals. Sometimes it takes gut to selected some sections
