Hi! I'm new here.
I live in Paris.
I'm sorry that I can't write in Italian...
My father is from Trieste and I used to spend summer holidays there when I was young. So I understand and read Italian but cannot write it fluently.
Later I became interested in the history of the area.
Im also very nostalgic about food (see my pseudo :-D ).

Welcome, Presnitz. and we all hope you're going to enjoy our site :P :P

Have a look around. There is a lot of photos and stories of interest about our beloved Trieste.
There is even a little known 'French Connection' at:

You are quite right. As far as I know, there is just a person in this forum who is fluent in French. On the other hand, there are a few more who speak English...

gente persa perchè no accettada no xe, se te escludi i spammers, che vien cancelai subito
( This is the English section, Presniz i think is a woman, she said she understands and reads Italian. I f you have read, there is a post already in the French section, only some of us who understand English but not French ( as you, I suppose) couldn't partecipate.
there are no people not accepted, except the spammers, who are immediately erased.)

Hi Presnitz

As a comparitive newcomer who was made most welcome on this site despite his terrible grasp of the Italian language, may I also welcome you aboard.

You will find a lot of nice people here who will be glad to offer help whenever it is required.

Ciao

sorry I didn't mean to be rude, but I drop a few word in another topic and I was told the that is only for Austrian people.

so, I though that you might prefer to be among your own.

Well...
My father was born in Trieste in 1928. His parents died when he was very young and he was raised by his mother's family in Opicina. He left Trieste in the late 40s early 50s when he joined the Foreign Legion.
He settled in France at the end of the 50s then he met my mother.
He had an older sister who was married to a lawyer. They are both deceased now. My uncle died in the fire of his apartment a few years ago
:x
My parents and I used to stay with them for the month of August every other year or so. One of my uncle's hobbies was eating  so we spent a lot of time in good restaurants. It was boring for a child but now that I'm older I see things differently!
My last visit was in 1995 and I really want to go back but I don't know when I'll be able to.
Hope I wasn't too boring.
