Hi all,
I'm new here on the forums, and new in Trieste as well... arrived in late 2008, just in time to see the Barcolana (yay!). Really love the place, I should be staying for at least a couple of years and hopefully improve my Italian, perhaps even pick up a smidge of Triestino.
Looking forward to learning a lot about Trieste on these forums ! See you guys soon :-)

Hopefully you'll find the places, that is Trieste and this forum, to your liking. I m sure by the end of the stay you'll be just like one of us.... On seconf thought, just learn the language and remain yourself, hahahaha

Hehe, thank you guys for the kind words... Adler, I can assure you writing Italian is much easier that speaking it! For one thing, you can't proofread speech ;-)
I'm here working at the university, it's basically a one year contract that I can renew a few times... that will probably be the case, since the whole region seems much nicer than where I last lived (Brussels, Belgium). Can't wait to get wheels and so some sightseeing... perhaps starting with the Grotta Gigante, and now I seem to have found just the place for ideas of places to visit, expect my questions in the adequate sections (in Italian, all right) :-)
